Chicago North Lawndale Shooting Leaves Three Seriously Injured

Three people were seriously injured Monday morning in a shooting that took place in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. Authorities say the gunman fled the scene and no arrests have been reported.

The shooting occurred around 10:10 a.m. in the 3400 block of West 15th Street, near Homan Avenue. Police say three individuals were standing outside when an unknown male suspect approached and opened fire.

Victims Transported to Hospital

All three victims were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital. Police reported the following conditions:

• A 28-year-old man was shot in the back and neck and is listed in critical condition.

• A 27-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen and is listed in serious but stable condition.

• A 29-year-old man was shot in the right arm and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Authorities confirmed that no students were present in nearby schools at the time of the shooting, as classes were not in session and are set to resume on Tuesday, January 6.

Suspect Description and Investigation

The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a gray sedan traveling north. No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released additional information about the gunman.

Area Four detectives are leading the investigation. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with potential witnesses as they work to determine the motive and identify the suspect.
