Three employees were killed in a workplace shooting at JAT Partner Logistics in Midland, Texas, officials said.


Three employees were killed in a workplace shooting at a trucking and logistics company in Midland, Texas, on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. at JAT Partner Logistics on East County Road 80 and marks the second major shooting event in the city within a span of 10 days.


Shooting Reported at Midland Business

According to authorities, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at JAT Partner Logistics shortly after 10 a.m.

When law enforcement arrived, they discovered three individuals who had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Witnesses Describe Deadly Incident

Workers at the scene told local media that the suspected gunman arrived at the business and allegedly intended to set the building on fire.

According to witness accounts, an employee confronted the suspect outside and was fatally shot. The gunman then reportedly entered the building, where employees were attending a meeting, and opened fire before turning the weapon on himself. Authorities have not yet released official details confirming the sequence of events.

Crisis Teams Respond to Scene

The Midland County Sheriff's Office and other agencies responded to the business following the shooting.

Members of the Midland County Crisis Intervention Unit were also deployed to assist employees, witnesses, and family members affected by the tragedy. Officials remained at the scene throughout the day as the investigation continued.

Second Major Shooting in Midland This Month

The workplace shooting occurred just 10 days after another deadly shooting in Midland on June 12.

In that incident, one person was killed and 10 others were injured after a gunman opened fire on bystanders and police officers before dying following a lengthy standoff. The victim was later identified as Midland city employee Ed Scott.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those who died in Monday's shooting.

Investigators continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as they work to determine what led to the deadly incident. Officials have said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
