Andrew and Tristan Tate arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami

Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami after a U.K. extradition request tied to dozens of criminal charges.

Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, following a sealed warrant tied to an extradition request from the United Kingdom.

Arrest Follows New U.K. Charges

According to authorities, the arrests were made after the U.K. Crown Prosecution Service authorized dozens of additional criminal charges against the brothers.

Andrew Tate now faces a total of 42 charges in the U.K., including allegations of rape, facilitating sex trafficking, assault causing actual bodily harm, and offenses involving indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate faces 17 charges, including allegations of rape, sexual assault, and arranging or facilitating trafficking.

The latest charges involve four additional alleged victims, bringing the total number of alleged victims in the British case to seven.

Extradition Process Begins

The Tate brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, remain in federal custody and are expected to appear before a federal court in Miami to begin extradition proceedings.

U.S. officials have not announced when a final decision on extradition will be made.

Defense Denies Allegations

The brothers' attorney, Joseph McBride, denied the allegations, describing the new U.K. charges as politically motivated.

Andrew and Tristan Tate also continue to face separate criminal proceedings in Romania related to allegations of human trafficking and forming an organized criminal group. Those cases remain unresolved.

The extradition process in the United States is ongoing.
