Five people were injured after gunfire broke out during a house party in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to police. Officers responded around 4:30 a.m. to the 1400 block of Glen Avenue, where a large gathering had escalated into violence.
Argument Inside Party Led to Gunfire
Investigators said a crowd had gathered at the home when an argument broke out among attendees.
Police reported that during the dispute, a person opened fire into the crowd, causing panic as guests attempted to flee the scene. The exact cause of the argument remains under investigation.
Five Victims Taken to Hospital
Authorities confirmed that at least five people were shot during the incident.
All victims were transported to local hospitals in private vehicles rather than by ambulance. Police said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening and all five were listed in stable condition.
Nearby Home Also Struck by Bullets
Police said gunfire also hit a nearby residential home across the street from the party location.
No injuries were reported inside that home, but investigators noted the incident put surrounding residents at risk as bullets traveled beyond the gathering.
One Person Arrested as Investigation Continues
Dallas police said one individual was detained at the scene following the shooting.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or confirmed any charges as detectives continue to interview witnesses and review evidence.
