1 Dead, 1 Injured in Shooting in Forest Hill, Texas

The Brief

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting at a home in Forest Hill, Texas, Sunday evening, August 30, 2026.

Forest Hill police received a call shortly before 6:30 p.m. about a shooting in the 4200 block of Bowling Green Street.

Officers arrived and found two victims. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

What We Know

Police said the shooting happened at a residence on Bowling Green Street. Investigators are working to determine what led to the gunfire.

A nearby resident told WFAA that security camera footage showed a woman approaching their home after the shooting. The woman appeared to have blood on her and asked for help.

Forest Hill Police Chief Eddie Hernandez said investigators believe a third person was involved in the shooting.

Police have identified a suspect and a vehicle connected to the investigation. However, authorities had not publicly released a detailed description of the person they were seeking.

The Texas Rangers and Tarrant County crime scene investigators are assisting Forest Hill police with the investigation.

Forest Hill police are continuing to search for the third person believed to be involved in the shooting.

Investigators are processing the crime scene and working with the Texas Rangers and Tarrant County investigators to establish what happened and determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
